David has a decades worth of experience at Director level in Private Healthcare.

From East Yorkshire, David moved to Sheffield to complete his Joint Honour Degrees in Business Studies & Marketing before moving to York in 2007 where he took up the position of Operations & Marketing Director at a brand new start-up Private Dental provider.

As part of David's personal development, he undertook a Graduate Diploma in Law at the then York College of Law which he completed in between getting married and becoming a father.

David has always believed in promoting excellence of care to patients offering choice and true patient centred care in comfortable and welcoming settings.

David lives in York with his wife and two children.

In his spare time, David enjoys mountain biking, skiing, wild camping and travel.

He is also a passionate musician playing piano, keyboard and saxophone.

Originally from Gdansk, Poland, Dr Buk-Filak moved to UK following graduation from Medical School in 2005. On graduation she trained mainly in Yorkshire, undertaking medical training before deciding that General Practice best suited her skills and interests. She started GP training in York in 2010 in both the hospital and local surgeries and qualified in 2013. On qualification she began working as a Salaried GP in the local surgery. Along with her Private GP sessions at Stonegate Medical, Dr Buk-Filak also works as a locum GP.

Dr Alison Woodmansey has 30 years of experience as a GP.
She worked as a full time partner prior to having children and now works part time.

Dr Woodmansey qualified at Newcastle University Medical School and went on to train as a GP in the Newcastle area gaining membership of the Royal College of General Practice with distinction. She spent a year working in rural Kenya in a Mission Hospital, running the Obstetric unit as well as working in Paediatrics, Medicine, Surgery and community Medicine.

She has 4 children and has trained in leading parenting courses all of which has supplemented her understanding and experience of Child Health and Paediatrics. She has Diploma’s from both the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health. She thus has interests and experience in women’s Health and Paediatrics.

She and her family love walking in the Yorkshire country side and Lake District with their Border Collie.

She enjoys choral singing in a community choir and has participated in the community productions at York Theatre Royal.

I graduated at the Medical University of Warsaw as a Doctor of
Medicine and Surgery in 2005 after which I did my GP training and
qualified in 2012. I have worked as a doctor in respiratory medicine
in a leading NHS hospital. I have published a few medical articles and
done presentations at the British Thoracic Association Conference. I
have worked in general practice and in hospitals overseas and in UK
within the NHS and private practices attaining varied experiences and
skills in different health care settings. I trained in travel vaccines
including yellow fever. One of my aspirations is to more voluntary
work in poorer countries and communities as pro bono publico work.

My philosophy in life is, ‘Do unto others what you would want them to
do unto you.’

Outside my work, I enjoy walking, running, travelling and spending
time with loved ones. I am a member of a choir although I cannot
honestly say that I am a good singer.

I graduated as a doctor in 1987 and joined the Army Medical Corps as a General Duty Medical Officer. On completion of a 5 year short service tenure I undertook Post graduate studies in Radiodiagnosis. On completion of this I worked as a specialist radiologist and continued to also work as a generalist for a not -for-profit organization for a few years.
I then had the privilege of working in Africa for 3 years as a Radiologist and on my return to India continued to work as a specialist radiologist for a few years. In 2003 I decided to return to General Practice
I moved to the UK in 2004 and worked for almost 2 years in Psychiatry before undertaking the VTS. I have been a GP for the past 8 years.

Louise has been a registered midwife with a special interest in infant feeding for over 30 years. She has worked both in clinical practice and university midwifery education.

She qualified as a registered nurse in 1984 in Sheffield before undertaking her midwifery education at St Mary's hospital in Paddington, London. Right from the beginning of her midwifery career, Louise developed an interest in infant feeding and helping mothers get breastfeeding off to a good start. After working in hospital Louise became a community midwife working in a team that provided holistic midwifery care throughout the whole childbirth continuum attending many home and hospital births. She facilitated antenatal education classes in the community and visited many mothers during their first few weeks after birth helping them with breastfeeding. It was here she developed experience with all aspects of infant feeding.

Having a passion for teaching, Louise become involved in working as a university lecturer overseeing student midwives in their training where she still practices today. Louise currently leads the 'Baby Friendly'* accreditation of a university midwifery programme. Pursuing her interest and passion in helping mothers with their choice of infant feeding, Louise trained to Masters level in the practice of frenulotomy (tongue-tie division) at the University of Wolverhampton. The clinical practice was at the tongue-tie clinic in the Russell Hall hospital in Dudley which is one of the largest specialist clinics of its kind in England.

Louise is a member of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), the Association of Tongue Tie Practitioners (ATP) and an associate member of the lactation consultants UK.

Louise lives with her husband locally in York and enjoys walking and meeting up with friends socially.

Dr Paul Davies graduated from Newcastle University in 2001. He has spent the last 15 years gaining experience in all areas of medicine. He has completed specialist medical exams (MRCP) and general practice exams (MRCGP) during this process. In 2011 he completed the Advanced Diploma in Occupational Medicine at Manchester University and has been undertaking regular work in Occupational Health as an Occupational Health Physician since.

He enjoys the variety of cases occupational health work brings and aims to assess employees with medical conditions accurately and provide clear, high quality reports. These reports help our clients support employees with medical conditions and help proactive management of sickness absence and performance concerns affected by medical conditions.

His occupational health experience has covered a wide range of sectors including transport/rail industry, manufacturing industry, corporate clients, Oil and Gas sector, work abroad and health care.

He is experienced in providing high quality reports for management referrals, independent medical assessments, HAVS tier 4 assessments, vehicle licensing as well as advising companies regarding policy development, how to ensure companies maximise the benefits of occupational health services. He is able to assess the impact health conditions have on specific job roles and the impact on employees’ health that hazards in the workforce can have. This allows him to work with the company to ensure the relevant solutions are implemented.

Away from Occupational Health, he enjoys outdoor activity of most kinds rewarding. He enjoys travelling, guitar, reading and time with family and friends when time allows.

Professor Helen Stain is a consultant clinical psychologist with many years experience providing psychological therapy for both adolescents and adults in the United Kingdom and Australia. Following her graduation at the University of Western Australia she commenced private practice with a focus on trauma and post traumatic stress disorder for adults in military service and for adolescents. This extensive experience led to her being an Expert Medical witness on PTSD for the Supreme Court of Victoria in Australia for many years. During this time she also developed her skills in working with couples and individuals struggling with relationships or stressful work situations.

In 2004 Professor Stain commenced a clinical academic role with the University of Newcastle in Australia, conducting a successful clinical research programme in youth mental health that has continued to grow here in the UK. The focus of this research has been the development of therapies for prevention and early intervention of mental health problems. She also provided psychological assessment and therapy across a large rural region of Australia including service with the Royal Flying Doctor. In each of her clinical academic posts (University of Newcastle, Durham University, Leeds Trinity University) she has provided psychological services in child and adolescent mental health, consultation liaison psychiatry, and adult mental health. She has extensive experience in early intervention for psychosis with youth and adults including improving the delivery of service.

Professor Stain has a developmental, relational and person centred approach to therapy using a Cognitive Behavioural framework. She is CBT trained including specialist training in Trauma Focussed CBT and CBT for psychosis. Equally she has expertise in the treatment of anxiety, depression, grief and adjustment. Working with adolescents and adults, Professor Stain is able to provide safe and effective therapy for individuals, couples and groups. She enjoys providing therapy and observing the growth and strength of clients as they master the challenges of life.

Professor Stain is committed to ensuring a high standard of mental health services and has led service reforms, development of new services, training for multidisciplinary teams and service evaluations. As Professor of Psychology she has encouraged and supervised clinicians in successfully undertaking their own research or PhD studies. Her research findings on student mental health, informed the development of a student mental health and wellbeing strategy for Leeds Trinity University. She has presented her clinical research and service models at international conferences. She has held an honorary Professorship with Stavanger University Hospital in Norway for many years in recognition of her strategic leadership, research expertise and support for early career researchers.

Coming from sunburnt Australia, Professor Stain embraces every opportunity to be walking in the green landscapes of Yorkshire especially the Dales. She makes good use of her English Heritage and Royal Horticultural Society memberships. When not out walking her two very cute Basset hounds or learning the history of the UK, she enjoys motorcycling and hitting the gym.

Suzie is a Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, registered with the British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary Natural Health Care Council (CNHC) and is currently completing a MSc in Nutrition Science & Practice. She is also a Personal Trainer with 10 years’ experience and has training and certification in CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coaching, Eating Psychology and Mind Body Nutrition.

She has a passion for Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine, believing in supporting a person as a whole, addressing the root cause of symptoms and disease through nutrition, lifestyle and mindset changes. As well as delivering one to one sessions, she also runs workshops and writes for various health and wellness magazines. Her experience includes her own personal healing journey, suffering from disordered eating as a teenager, being diagnosed with IBS in her late teens and supporting her body and mind through career changes and competitive sports including living and training as a professional Muay Thai fighter in Thailand, to more recently CrossFit.
Her mission now is to educate and empower others in navigating their own personal health and wellness journey to become the best version of themselves.

After spending 10 years in northern Germany, Sue moved back to the UK in July 2016. She settled in York and is enjoying getting to know its history and hidden charms, and also enjoys lots of the live music available. Before moving away, Sue worked for a private GP in London, and is now happy to be back working in a familiar environment.

Sue has two children, her son is studying here in York, and her daughter is at Glasgow University. In her spare time she is learning to play the harp, taking Salsa lessons, and has recently rediscovered Ceilidh dancing.

In her spare time Jhordan enjoy's visiting County Durham where her family run a small restaurant. Jhordan and her husband enjoy spending time with their two naughty dogs 'Bomber' and 'Blake', walking the local areas of York and learning more about this historic city.
