Wrinkle Reduction Injectables
Wrinkle reduction treatments:
Botulinum Toxin Type A is used to reduce the appearance for fine lines and wrinkles.
Because the use of Botulinum Toxin Type A is unregulated in the UK it is important to know that the person administering the treatment is fully trained and qualified. Here at Stonegate Medical Clinic all aesthetic treatments are carried out by an experienced Doctor who has the time to ensure the treatment is right for you. The procedure is simple to perform and most patients find the injections only cause a mild sting lasting seconds.
Ideal areas for treatment are those wrinkles caused by muscles that have no significant function such as the deep creases between the eyebrows, crow’s feet and forehead lines.
Upper face – Frown lines, forehead lines, Top of the nose
Eye – wrinkles around the eyes (crows feet) , Tear troughs
Lower face – jaw line and neck, chin and lips to prevent a gummy smile
How long do the results last?
The results for Botox generally last between 12-16 weeks however this can vary from patient to patient.
Your doctor should be able to discuss this with you in more detail in your consultation.
After the treatment
The doctor will give you some recommendations and discuss the side effects of the treatment to consider, however some of the more commonly asked questions are:
- Can I touch my face after treatment? Yes you can however it is advisable to not rub or massage the area for at least 6 hours unless instructed to do so by the doctor.
- How long is the recovery time? The doctors use very thin needles to inject the product into the desired areas which helps to minimise any bruising however you may experience slight swelling which should subside in a few hours.
- How long does the treatment take to see the effects? Botox product can take up too two weeks for the full effect of the treatment to be seen however you should usually see the first effects 3-5 days later.
